What Should I Do If My Circuit Breaker Keeps Tripping Repeatedly?

If a breaker keeps tripping, stop repeatedly resetting it and treat it as an electrical hazard. Frequent trips are a sign to call immediately. Unplug devices on that circuit and try one reset. If it trips again, leave it off and contact us. Watch for burning smells, warm outlets, buzzing, sparks, or flames. If you see burn marks or smell burning at the breaker, notify an electrician immediately. We provide after-hours emergency electrical service in Roanoke, Rocky Mount, and nearby.

  • Unplug loads and reset once
  • If it trips again, keep it off and call
  • Check for burning smells, heat, or buzzing
