Why Is My AC Running But Not Blowing Cold Air?

An AC that runs but isn’t blowing cold air usually points to a refrigerant leak, a drainage problem, a compressor issue, or a failed condenser fan. Refrigerant loss is the most common and it stops the system from moving heat out of your home, so air stays warm even while the unit runs. Drain clogs can halt cooling while the blower still operates, and a worn compressor or stuck outdoor fan won’t reject heat. Our technicians handle these faults often across the Roanoke–Salem area. Most cases are repairable; replacement is considered only when a major component is failing. 24/7 emergency AC repair is available when cooling is completely lost. A field clue we see: if the outdoor cabinet feels very hot and the fan isn’t spinning, the fan motor may be at fault. Shut the system off to prevent damage and schedule a professional diagnostic before running it again.
